Colorado has sent Task Force 1 to Kerr County, Texas, to assist in searches and cleanup efforts along the Guadalupe River.
The serious threat unfolding in San Saba County is along the San Saba River, another area known to flood. Rains from this weekend — on top of the already soaked ground — were forecast to raise the river above 30 inches. The river is forecast to rise faster and higher than it did on July 4.
More than two dozen Mexican rescue volunteers and firefighters have been looking for victims and clearing debris along the Guadalupe River. Others were left waiting for visas and humanitarian permits to cross the border.
