Authorities have started handing over remains of the victims of one of India’s worst aviation disasters, days after the Air India flight crashed and killed at least 270 people, officials said Sunday.

Three days after the crash, only 35 bodies had been handed over to relatives from an overall official death toll of 270.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Air India said that nine of its Boeing 787 aircraft have already undergone the required safety checks.
