For the first time in Star Wars canon, Darth Maul and Darth Vader are set to face off in an epic lightsaber duel in the upcoming animated series Maul: Shadow Lord. The stage is set for a confrontation between these two iconic Sith villains.

Maul - Shadow Lord is one of the most highly anticipated shows since the character made an appearance in Clone Wars. Fans have been begging for the character to get a standalone series and now Filoni has delivered.

Shadow Lord looks like it’s going to be another badass animated series in the franchise. This is the first Star Wars series built entirely around a villain, and the recently released trailer showed how dark Maul is going to be.

Shadow Lord series doesn’t at all make the Sith Lord look like a heroic figure, it does suggest that meeting his new apprentice is going to reveal new things about his character when the show premieres on April 6th.
