Dobbins had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns for the Chargers last season and was a Comeback Player of the Year finalist. Injuries did slow him up once again, but Dobbins produced when he was on the field in 2024.
Dobbins wore No. 27 during his first four years in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, and he also wore that number with the Los Angeles Chargers last season. He's sharing the number for now: cornerback Damarri Mathis also wore No. 27 on Wednesday (the NFL allows players to share numbers in the offseason if they play on different sides of the ball).

On Tuesday afternoon, word emerged that running back J.K. Dobbins has signed with the Broncos. Not long thereafter, coach Sean Payton met with reporters. And Payton was mum about the situation. “I’m not going to answer to any reports,” Payton said. “I think we’re close. I’ll tell you tomorrow.”
It took nearly three months in free agency for J.K. Dobbins to find a home, but he has since committed to relocate from Los Angeles. The Broncos have announced their signing, as the veteran running back is now on a one-year, $2.75MM contract.
