The New Orleans Saints weighed whether to take Shedeur Sanders before opting instead for Tyler Shough in the 2025 NFL draft. "He was right in those conversations," head coach Kellen Moore told reporters of Sanders.

The New Orleans Saints brought Kellen Moore in this offseason to be the team's head coach and that decision already looks great. Moore is on the younger side and has already shown in his career so far that he knows how to build a high-powered offense.

NFL draft experts have been critical of the New Orleans Saints' 2025 rookie class, ranking them as low as bottom-five in the league.

Thomas was the only defensive tackle the Saints signed as an undrafted free agent. During the 2025 NFL Draft, New Orleans grabbed Texas defensive tackle Vernon Broughton at No. 71 overall in the third round. The Saints also drafted defensive lineman Fadil Diggs, who played with the Syracuse Orange, at No. 254 overall in the seventh round.
