The Broncos were interested in Etienne, according to multiple reports, but he opted to instead sign with the New Orleans Saints on a deal that averages $13 million per season. Etienne now "immediately steps in as the [Saints'] RB1, whether or not Alvin Kamara is around for 2026," according to John Sigler of Saints Wire.

A couple hours after the NFL’s period for contacting free agents started, the New Orleans Saints agreed to a deal with running back Travis Etienne Jr. that is worth $52 million over four years, according to NFL Media. That came shortly after the Chiefs signed running back Kenneth Walker III to a three-year, $45 million deal.
