Two Dallas firefighters were hospitalized after an apartment fire. The fire began Saturday on the third floor of the building and spread to the roof. It was extinguished by dozens of firefighters after being declared two-alarm. DALLAS - Two Dallas firefighters were taken to a hospital after an apartment fire Saturday afternoon.
At about 2:40 p.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to a 911 call reporting a fire at the complex located at 4502 Gaston Avenue. The fire department’s public information officer Jason Evans said the fire was coming from the third-floor balcony, and it had already “spread rapidly” to the roof by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
Fast moving flames gutted part of a condominium complex in East Dallas on Saturday, leaving residents displaced. Witnesses told NBC 5 they initially spotted smoke and flames coming from a top-floor balcony at The Gastonian at the corner of Gaston Avenue and N. Carroll.
