Indiana basketball didn’t bring the sense of urgency it needed to Columbus on Saturday afternoon.  In a battle of bubble teams, the Hoosiers (18-13, 9-11 Big Ten) were outclassed in a 91-78 loss to Ohio State that put their NCAA Tournament hopes on life support.

The loss dropped Indiana’s Quadrant 1 record to 2-11. The Hoosiers squandered their final five Quad 1 opportunities and dropped a Quad 2 game to Northwestern along the way. The Cream and Crimson’s NCAA Tournament hopes appear near-extinct, although they’ve been aided by a smattering of Saturday losses from other bubble teams.

As a team, Ohio State went 11-24 (45.8%) from deep, outpacing an Indiana team that shot below its season average from 3-point range, going 5-18 (27.8%). Indiana actually outscored Ohio State by 10 points in the paint, but it didn’t matter against the Buckeyes’ perimeter offense.
