The Detroit Lions will be focusing on their youth in the preseason opener. When the team takes the field for the first time Thursday in the Hall of Fame Game, there will be an abundance of starters on the sidelines.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell touched on the team's plans for their rookies during the preseason, including for the Hall of Fame Game against the Los Angeles Chargers on July 31.

Detroit's defense could have its hands full on Thursday as Trey Lance is expected to play into the 3rd quarter before being relieved by D.J. Uiagalelei for the rest of the night.
