Apple is sitting out the costly race to build AI models and infrastructure, as the iPhone maker becomes a potential kingmaker among tech rivals seeking to dominate the new industry. This week, the Silicon Valley group announced its most consequential move in AI so far through a deal to use Google’s Gemini models to power features for the iPhone and improve its Siri voice assistant.
The iPhone 17e, which is rumored to arrive in the next couple of months, will have a significantly upgraded display. According to leaker Digital Chat Station's Weibo post, it will have a 6.1-inch, 60Hz LTPS OLED display with the Dynamic Island. Other improvements include the new A19 chip, and Face ID facial recognition.
