Chip Kelly knows what he’s getting into as the Raiders’ offensive coordinator. He embraces joining an AFC West loaded with elite head coaches and quarterbacks.

Kelly, 61, is reportedly becoming the highest-paid offensive coordinator in NFL history at $6 million a year. The Raiders will mark his third stop in the NFL and his first as an OC.

The Raiders and Chip Kelly made it official on Tuesday. Word came on Sunday that the Raiders would hire Kelly as their offensive coordinator and the team announced the move on Tuesday afternoon. Kelly joins Pete Carroll’s staff years after they matched up as head coaches on both the collegiate and professional level.
