Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes, 29, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding, according to ABC 13 in Virginia, after the attack on Vogler, a Danville City Councilman. Hayes is being held at the Danville City Jail without bond.

Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler is hospitalized with severe burns after being set on fire in a targeted attack. Police say 29-year-old Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes confronted Vogler at his workplace,

Shotsie Michael Hayes, who set Lee Vogler on fire, had divorced his wife 2 weeks earlier. Police say the attack was personal; they had known each other.
