RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Brandon Bussi made 17 saves for his 18th win of the season, Seth Jarvis scored the go-ahead goal on a power play early in the third period and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 on Monday.

The Sabres made a strong push for a tying goal in the back half of the period, especially in the final minute with Luukkonen pulled. An extended wall battle popped out to an open Thompson at the left circle, but Bussi saved Thompson’s initial shot with 19 seconds remaining, plus the series of attempts that followed.

The Buffalo Sabres set out to start a new hot streak as they hit the road Monday afternoon for a matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes. The game is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. ET with TV coverage on TNT and streaming on-demand.
