PHILADELPHIA — It was an early-season storyline that stuck in John Tortorella’s craw. Desperately searching for chemistry among his forwards, the Flyers coach wasn’t just placing them in the proverbial blender, but it seemed as if he was actively attempting to use every combination mathematically possible.

The Flyers have won three of four and have points in four straight games following an emotional 5-3 win against the Islanders.

The Devils are one of the best teams in the NHL in the second period. It showed Wednesday night as Sam Ersson and the Flyers allowed four goals in the period.

The Philadelphia Flyers wrapped up a home-and-home set against the New Jersey Devils with a split. After a 4-2 home win on Monday, the Fyers sustained a 5-0 loss at Prudential Center on Wednesday evening.

Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier (illness) is poised to rejoin the lineup on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. He was held out of Monday's matchup against the Devils as Couturier wasn't feeling well.

For the third time in two weeks, the Philadelphia Flyers will square off against the New Jersey Devils, this time at the Prudential Center.
