Fire crews in Johnston have extinguished a gas fire that shot flames dozens of feet into the air. That fire was reported just before noon off Colorado State Highway 60 between County Roads 13 and 15.

The Port Ewen Volunteer Fire Department worked for five hours to bring the blaze at Lakeshore Preserve Apartments under control Friday.
