The transfer portal is the way for the Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team right now. Following the mass exodus after the firing of former head coach Fran McCaffery, the roster was barren of players.

After a chaotic first two weeks on the job, Iowa basketball head coach Ben McCollum expects to add a few more transfers to the Hawkeyes' roster.

With roster spots still needing to be filled, Iowa is reportedly welcoming in former Robert Morris big man Alvaro Folgueiras for a visit. The 6-foot-9, 215 pound forward was named the Horizon League Player of the Year last season after averaging 14.

Astera Tuhina, who averaged 7.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists at Washington State last season, committed to transfer to UO on Friday. The 5-foot-9 guard has one year of eligibility remaining. Tuhina shot 36.

On Friday, guard Cade Tyson entered the transfer portal and will be looking for a new home. He committed to North Carolina a year ago after spending two seasons at Belmont. Tyson was considered one of the top shooters in the portal last off-season but never got going for the Tar Heels.

Xavier Booker, Jamar Brown and Steven Jamerson II join Donovan Dent in transferring to Westwood while 7-foot-3 center Aday Mara leaves for Michigan.

UNC landed projected 2025-2026 starters Henri Veesaar and Kyan Evans in the transfer portal. Both are in ESPN's Top 100 portal player rankings.

Iowa basketball is among a lengthy list of schools that are in the mix for former Kansas State guard Brendan Hausen. Hausen averaged 10.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 39.0% from the field and 38.
