Salt Lake City police said​ in a post to social media that the shooting was "possibly associated" with a "No Kings" demonstration.

Thousands gathered at Houston City Hall for a lively protest early Saturday, cheering as local speakers decried President Trump’s immigration crackdown. Police officers in protective gear ringed parts of a subdued but attentive crowd.

The Houston demonstration is one of several planned in the region throughout the day and is expected to draw thousands of protesters.

Multiple protests took place throughout Northern California as part of the "No Kings" movement on Saturday. The protests coincide with President Donald Trump's birthday and the military parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.

During the "No Kings" protest near the College World Series, fans saw demonstrators while enjoying the game. Longtime LSU fan Stacy Shutts noted the protest added to her memorable experiences.

A suspect was arrested in connection with threats made against state lawmakers who planned to attend Saturday's "No Kings" protest at the Texas Capitol in Austin, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
