Police declared a barricaded gunman situation at 6 p.m. and negotiated with the man for approximately three hours before his arrest.

A 13-year-old is dead and another 13-year-old was injured after a shooting Friday night in Detroit, according to police.

DETROIT – A 13-year-old was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Detroit on Friday night, police said. The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on Aug. 1 at East Lantz and Anglin streets. Three teens were out walking when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to them, according to Detroit Police Assistant Chief Franklin Hayes.
