After trade talks taking place this offseason surrounding Jonnu Smith, the tight end has opted out of the Miami Dolphins mandatory minicamp this week. Head coach Mike McDaniel didn't give any details on the ongoing situation,

Jonnu Smith did not attend the Dolphins' mandatory minicamp last week, but that doesn't mean the tight end will definitely be playing elsewhere this fall.

The only thing is, there hasn’t been much of an update on that side. Smith did, however, sit out of minicamp as he and agent Drew Rosenhaus seek a new contract. Rosenhaus recently called conversations with the Dolphin “still fluid” on WSVN 7’s Sports Xtra.
