The New York Mets have reportedly shown interest in Chicago White Sox star Luis Robert Jr. ahead of the MLB trade deadline, but one report suggests the former All-Star would come at a very high price.

The New York Mets and Luis Robert Jr. have seemingly been linked from the first day of the season. Everyone could see the Mets needed a better centerfielder. And everyone thought they could see Robert was a guaranteed trade deadline move for the Chicago White Sox in another year on the outside of contention looking in.

GM Chris Getz hinted that the Sox are likely to exercise their $20 million option on the center fielder for 2026.
