In theory, the pregame scratch of Milwaukee Brewers rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski on Sunday should have offered the Washington Nationals an opportunity to stop their skid. Usually, a team cannot simply replace its ace — or one of its multiple aces — with a player from the minor leagues without a few road bumps along the way.

The Brewers promoted two young prospects in Jesus Made and Luis Pena, sending them to High-A Wisconsin after sweeping the Nationals.
