President Donald Trump’s tax and budget bill would increase deficits by $2.8 trillion over the next decade after factoring in other economic effects

The Congressional Budget Office estimated that if the House bill were to pass as written, the deficit would increase by almost $3 trillion.

The House and the Senate face a challenge coming up with a final One Big Beautiful Bill Act that will be able to get enough support in both chambers. The House narrowly passed the tax and spending legislation last month after weeks of at times tense negotiations.
