Investigators have been told a male attended a service station on Maroondah Hwy, Croydon North on Sunday 7 February. He removed the fuel pump from a bowser and ignited the pump handle with a cigarette lighter, causing the residual fuel to burn. He then fled on foot east on Maroondah Highway.
