If you're driving over the Huntly section of the Waikato Expressway keep an eye out for the beautiful cultural artworks that have been created. The 15km highway runs east of Huntly across lowlands and over the Taupiri Maunga, an area rich in Waikato-Tainui history. We collaborated closely with local iwi on the works to ensure the historical and cultural sites were recognised and protected. This is the new state highway 1 from Puhoi to Warkworth , Northern part of Auckland! It was early morning when we started our travel so the sky was colourful with the sunrise!
