Overcompensation is something I see often in social interactions with dogs. It's when the dog "looks" like they want to socialize - but they actually don't, it's a learned behaviour stemming from insecurity. This leads many owners to think their dog is social, or enjoys social interaction, when actually their dog finds it really stressful. 💚 I personally use e-collars because I don't ever want to risk my dogs lives or well-being. I want to KNOW that regardless of the challenge or a bad day, I am able to keep them safe.
