NOAA's National Hurricane Center (NHC) says Tropical Storm Harvey (now a hurricane) -- shown here in this 1-minute visible imagery captured by GOES-16 earlier today -- is strengthening quickly and is forecast to become a major hurricane when it approaches the middle Texas coast. Harvey is located about 365 miles south-southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, and moving toward the north-northwest near 10 miles per hour. Hurricane Melissa is a dangerous Category 5 hurricane, about 140 miles southwest of Jamaica. It's expected to make a direct hit Tuesday, with catastrophic & life-threating winds up to 175 miles per hour. In addition to the winds, the National Hurricane Center is forecasting up to 30 inches of rainfall leading to devastating flash flooding. Thoughts are with all those bracing for impact tonight.
