Day 4: Campbell Island in the New Zealand Sub-Antarctics. After an overnight crossing from Auckland Island, we woke to a view of Campbell Island. Today’s focus is on zodiac cruising around some coastal cliffs to see the Campbell albatross. We still have unbelievably calm seas but I suspect it’ll start getting a bit rough as we head further south tonight. After an epic day on Campbell Island viewing a huge colony of Campbell albatross and southern royal albatross, we’ve turned the ship south for Antarctica. We have several sea days before we reach the coastline of the Ross Sea. Thankfully, the ocean is still being very kind to us and everyone had a great night catching up on some sleep.
